Dr. Wojtovich’s work describing transgenic strains of C. elegans that respond to blue light by making reactive oxygen species at specific locations in the mitochondrial respiratory chain has been published at Scientific Reports, a Nature journal. He continues to work on this project in his own lab by expanding his repertoire of optogenetic reagents and utilizing CRISPR/Cas9 methodology to generate transgenic fusions with genomic protein coding regions.
