We have recently received funding from the NSF to study the role of intrinsic cell death proteins in oscillatory calcium signaling and from NIH to study the role of AD-relevant post-translational modifications to Tau on mitochondrial stress, trafficking, turnover, and ultimately age-dependent loss of neuronal function in a single-copy transgenic worm model. The later grant is with Dr. Gail VW Johnson in Anesthesiology, and we welcome Dr. Sanjib Guha as a new postdoctoral fellow who is working with both of us on this joint project.
